BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. - County leaders in Colorado said they mistakenly sent $238,000 to hackers after one of its vendors experienced a cyberattack. Boulder County said on its website that after its vendor was hacked, a spearfishing e-mail was sent to the county. Thinking it was the vendor itself, the county sent the check. However, it turned out the money was sent to a fraudulent account. Retirement accounts have become a popular target for cybercriminals looking to cash out."Although the county has safeguards in place to prevent these types of frauds from occurring, and we successfully thwart attacks by fraudsters several times a year, we did not catch this one in time to prevent the check from being cashed," County Administrator Jana Petersen said on the county’s website.

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Department of Meteorology says that showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Central, Uva, Northern, North-Central, and Eastern provinces during the evening or night.A few showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the island.The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.Condition of Rain:A few showers will occur in the sea area off the coast extending from Colombo to Galle. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar Kankasanturai and Mullaitivu in the evening or night.Winds:Winds will be south-westerly or north-westerly and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (40-50) kmph at times the sea area off the coast extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.State of Sea:The sea areas off the coast extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota may be rough at times.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia may be cooling off from the summer heat, but gun violence is still on the rise with at least 16 people struck by gunfire in a string of shootings this weekend.The deadly shootings began late Friday night when a teen succumbed to his injuries in Kensington. COLOMBO (News 1st) – The police fired tear gas and aimed water cannons at Socialist Youth Union protestors who were engaged in a protest in the Maradana area against the Government's repressive measures.The protestors initiated the march under the theme of re-energizing the people's protests and returning the power of the youth to Colombo.The police previously announced that although the protest march was due to start from near the Lipton Roundabout in Colombo, they cannot allow it.The Police said that 84 people have been detained by Sri Lanka Police for taking part in the protest organized by the Socialist Youth Union.Several protestors who were injured during the protest were brought to Colombo National Hospital for treatment as well.

PHILADELPHIA - South Street experienced another night of violence after shots rang out on the popular Philadelphia street this weekend.Police say a fight between a group of men and women erupted into gunfire on the 400 block of South Street around 12:45 a.m. Saturday.A man in his early 20s was found on the ground, shot multiple times, when police in the area responded to the sound of shots being fired.
