PHILADELPHIA - Cooler temperatures will follow in the wake of powerful thunderstorms that brought strong winds and heavy downpours to the region Monday.
Forecasters warned of strong thunderstorms on Monday with wind gusts upwards of 70 MPH that some feared could spin up an isolated tornado.
The National Weather Service issued a region-wide Severe Thunderstorm Watch that was upgraded to a warning in some areas of Pennsylvania.
The brunt of the storms rolled across the Lehigh Valley in the early evening and continued into New York and parts of New England.
