PHILADELPHIA - Officers with the Philadelphia Police Department's Shooting Investigation Group are investigating a double shooting in Mayfair. According to police, officers received a 9011 call reporting gunshots at Charles Street and Magee Avenue early Thursday morning. Officials say officers found a crime scene with six shell casings on the sidewalk, but no victims were present. Police were later notified that two men showed up at Frankford Hospital with injuries, authorities say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAccording to Chief Inspector Scott Small, a 31-year-old man was shot in the face and a 29-year-old man was shot in his back. Both men were transported to trauma hospitals, where they are in critical condition. Police did not release any additional information and said they are checking cameras in the area. 

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a dog attack that left two people in the hospital early Thursday morning. Authorities say 25th District officers responded to the area of N 5th Street and W Venango Street just after 1 a.m. for reports of a person down. Chief Inspector Scott Small says responding officers arrived on scene and encountered a man who was being bitten by a pit bull mix. According to police, he was bleeding from various wounds to his head, neck, body, arms and legs. Small says the dog was biting on the man's arm as his family members used a bat to try to get the animal to release the man. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAn officer discharged his weapon, shooting the dog in the side, causing it to let the man go, Small says. Police transported the man to the hospital, where he is in critical condition from his injuries, according to officials. The man's wife was also suffering from a dog bite wound to her leg, according to Small. Authorities say medics transported her to Temple University Hospital, where she is in stable condition. Small says the SPCA and Philadelphia Animal Control were called in to investigate.Police did not provide an update on the status of the dog's injuries. Police say a pit bull mix has been shot by police after it attacked its owners in Hunting Park, leaving a man in critical condition and a woman in stable condition.

PHILADELPHIA - Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department's shooting Investigation Group are looking into a quadruple shooting that left teenagers injured in North Philadelphia on Wednesday night. According to police, the shooting happened just before 11:30 p.m. when officers responded to calls for a shooting on the 2800 block of Bonsall Street. Chief Inspector Scott Small says officers arrived on scene and found four gunshot victims who were between the ages of 15 and 18. According to Small, a 15-year-old girl was shot in the back and the leg, while a 16-year-old girl and 18-year-old female were also shot in the leg. Four teenagers were shot at a birthday party in North Philadelphia on Wednesday night, according to police.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department has launched an investigation after a woman was struck by a car and left in the street in Lawncrest. According to police, the incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Monday night. The woman, 31, was struck by a vehicle while crossing the 5700 block of Rising Sun Avenue, authorities say. Chief Inspector Scott Small says when police and medics arrived on scene, they found her face down and bleeding with face trauma and a broken arm. Medics rushed her to the hospital and she is expected to survive, according to officials. Witnesses told investigators that the car was moving so fast that they could not tell the model or color of the vehicle, Small says. According to police, the woman was walking to her car to get dog training pads from her parked car when she was struck. The dog training pads could be seen spread out in the street after the woman was struck and one of her sneakers remained in the road, police say. Police say the woman was crossing the street to get dog training pads when she was struck by a speeding vehicle.
