Registration for vaccination for people aged 45 to 49 years old opens today, starting first with people aged 49. For now, people in this group will be vaccinated with either a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

The Health Service Executive said that the invitation for people aged 45 to 49, includes people in different groups, such as frontline healthcare staff, or people who are at high, or very high-risk due to underlying conditions, who have not been given an appointment by their hospital or healthcare team.

People aged 45 to 49 who do not have a PPS number can also register. These vaccinations will be administered later this month and in June.
