Sign up here for GlobalData's free bi-weekly Covid-19 report on the latest information your industry needs to know.The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Defense have executed an agreement valued at $1.95bn with Pfizer and BioNTech for up to 600 million doses of the companies’ Covid-19 vaccine candidate, BNT162.
This agreement is part of the US government’s Operation Warp Speed programme goal to start delivery of 300 million doses of a Covid-19 vaccine in 2021.
As part of the agreement, the US will receive 100 million doses of BNT162, after Pfizer manufactures and obtains the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval or emergency use authorisation.
