UN aid chief calls for Eritrean forces to leave Tigray

CAMEROON – U.N. humanitarian chief Mark Lowcock demanded Thursday that Eritrean forces fighting alongside Ethiopian government troops in embattled Tigray province leave the country, a demand echoed by U.N.

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, according to his spokesman. Lowcock warned that “a campaign of destruction” is taking place in Tigray, saying at least 4.5 million people need assistance.
