UK records just one new Covid-19 death over 24 hours with 1,649 new cases

The UK has recorded just one coronavirus death in the latest 24-hour period with 1,649 new cases, figures show. This is down from the 14 fatalities and 1,671 infections announced yesterday, although Monday Covid figures tend to be lower due to a lag in data reporting at weekends.
