Daily Covid deaths in the UK have stayed in single figures for two days in a row for the first time since September. Four more deaths were recorded on Tuesday, all people having died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid.
It comes after one death was recorded on Bank Holiday Monday, with the latest data bringing the UK total number of deaths to 127,543.
The last time the UK recorded single-digit deaths for two consecutive days was on September 14 last year. Meanwhile, separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
