UK coronavirus hospital deaths up 364 with sharp 40% drop on figure 7 days ago

The UK coronavirus hospital death toll has risen by 364 - a sharp drop from one week ago. Today, England recorded a further 302 deaths, while Wales recorded 13, Scotland 47 and Northern Ireland, two.

The total is 42% lower than the 622 recorded by this measure seven days ago. The Department of Health will release the latest UK total later, which will include all settings, included care homes.

It follows yesterday overall daily death toll of 548 - which marked a 48% drop in two weeks. Deaths generally are falling after nearly two months of lockdown, with Boris Johnson on Monday outlining his roadmap out of restrictions.
