The UK coronavirus hospital death toll has risen by 704 in the highest Sunday rise since April. The fatalities included 631 in England, 48 in Wales, and 25 in Northern Ireland.
No new deaths were reported in Scotland on Sunday. The nationwide tally across all settings - including care homes and the wider community - will be released later today.
The figures from NHS England reveal London is leading the nationwide death toll. A total 154 Covid deaths were reported by the capital's hospitals in the 24 hours to Sunday.
That was followed by 121 in the East of England, and 111 in the Midlands. Three of those who died were aged between 20 to 39, official figures showed.
