The number of lives lost to Covid-19 in UK hospitals has risen by 331. The tragic figure includes 301 deaths in England, four in Scotland, 15 in Wales and 11 in Northern Ireland.
Victims in England were aged between 32 and 102, with eight having no known underlying health conditions. A week ago there were 454 fatalities, and a fortnight ago the figure was 622.
The highest increase on a Sunday was 710 on April 12 last year, when the UK was going through its first peak of the pandemic.
Sunday totals tend to be lower due to a lag in reporting weekend deaths. A month ago, on January 14, there were 1,018 deaths confirmed in hospitals in the four nations.
