The UK's hospital death toll has risen by two to a total of 34,096. Of the latest fatalities, both were recorded in England and this marks the lowest death toll of lockdown.

Scotland and Wales recorded no new coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours and Northern Ireland's figures are expected later today.

The figures follow a rise of four hospital patients yesterday - and a total of five new deaths reported yesterday in all settings.

Yesterday's rise in the number of cases also marked the sixth straight day it has been over 1,000. In its daily update, the Government said 1,040 new positive tests for Covid-19 were confirmed yesterday, taking the country's total to 318,484 since the outbreak began.
