Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said that progress in driving down the incidence of Covid-19 has stalled and that we have two weeks to get back on track.
He has appealed for people to redouble their efforts to drive down the disease; by limiting daily contacts, to work from home, and to stay at home in order to get the virus reproduction number below 0.5 by 1 December.
A day after employers' group Ibec complained to the Government that the National Public Health Emergency Team is a source of uncertainty and irritation, and appealed for an early exit from Level 5 restrictions, NPHET put the focus back on to employers.
