PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia City Councilman Bobby Henon has announced his resignation, effective at 8 a.m. Thursday morning. Henon's resignation comes months after he was convicted on multiple counts in a weeks-long corruption trial. During the trial, prosecutors said Philadelphia labor leader Johnny "Doc" Dougherty kept Henon, a union electrician-turned-Philadelphia City Council member, on the payroll to help his union keep a tight grip on construction jobs. During the six-week trial, the government played wiretaps of the pair speaking about Dougherty’s interest in issues before city council.Henon was convicted of 10 counts, including conspiracy, bribery and honest services wire fraud.

Both men got off the train at North Philadelphia Station and the alleged harasser attacked the armed man with a knife and was shot twice in the leg, according to sources.The 34-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.The alleged gunman was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered. This is a developing story.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the Tacony section late Tuesday ni ght. The shooting happened at the intersection of Torresdale Avenue and Unruh Street at approximately 10:15 p.m. When police initially arrived to the scene, they found everything but a victim. Police say the shooting scene consisted of over 45 spent shell casings that came from three separate semi-automatic weapons.

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner's Office delivered sharp criticism of Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman who urged state leaders on Tuesday to begin impeachment proceedings against the newly re-elected prosecutor. Corman, a Republican who represents Pennsylvania's 34th District, called for action as an effort to stem the recent wave of violence in Philadelphia.
