ET. It will get to the red-hued ’blood moon’ will begin at 11:29 p.m. ET. Then the entire event will end at 1:55 a.m. ET the next morning, May 16.
The eclipse will be visible in the Americas, Europe and Africa. The event will feature a blood moon, which occurs during a total lunar eclipse.
That’s when Earth lines up between the moon and the sun, hiding the moon from nearly all of the sunlight but allowing just enough light through to turn the moon a deep red color.
