Asking the Prime Minister to explain his own criminal laws that will fine citizens £10,000 is a "quiz show gotcha" question, the Tories have moaned.

Minister Alok Sharma came out with the baffling excuse after Boris Johnson mangled his own rules live on TV yesterday. Mr Johnson apologised for wrongly claiming the 'rule of six' - which bans gatherings of more than six people anywhere in England - didn't apply outdoors.

The PM was also unable to explain his own legal ban on meeting friends in pubs in the North East. Yet today, Business Secretary Mr Sharma claimed asking the Prime Minister about basic elements of the law was unfair.
