Registration for Covid-19 vaccinations for the cohort of people aged in their 50s opens from today. Those aged 59 are the first to be invited to register on the Health Service Executive's online portal.
Yesterday, the HSE recommended to the Department of Health that vaccines should continue to be administered under the planned age sequence, oldest to youngest in descending order, and has not recommended jumping age groups or giving vaccines in parallel with different age groups at this point.
Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly said it was too soon to say whether a recommendation on the next steps for the national vaccination programme would be ready in time for this afternoon's Cabinet meeting.
