A number of boroughs in Greater Manchester are beginning to see covid cases creep up. Infection rates have risen in three boroughs - Stockport, Bury and Trafford - but fallen in the other seven, according to the latest data from Public Health England.
A total of 8,549 people tested positive for coronavirus across the region in the week which ended on August 5. That's down by 559 cases compared to the previous seven days.
Greater Manchester's current infection rate is 301.5 cases per 100,000 population, down six per cent week-on-week, but still higher than the national average of 291.2 cases.
