Coronavirus infection rates have fallen in all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. Oldham continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in the region after the borough recorded a rate of 58.2 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending April 16, according to the latest data from Public Health England.

The lowest infection rate is in Stockport, where the rate is 24.9 cases per 100,000 people. In the week ending April 16 there were 0 Covid-19 deaths recorded in the region, which was the same as in the previous seven days.

In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 39.0 cases per 100,000 population. The infection rate in the region is higher than the national average, which is 24.6 cases per 100,000 people.
