The latest coronavirus infection rates across Greater Manchester, as all 10 boroughs show falling numbers of cases

Coronavirus infection rates have fallen in all 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester, the latest data on Saturday showed. Rochdale continues to have the highest infection rate in Greater Manchester.

The borough recorded a rate of 63.4 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending April 6, according to the latest data from Public Health England on Saturday.

The lowest infection rate is in Salford, where the rate is 32.5 cases per 100,000 people. But the data shows that infection rates in all 10 boroughs are currently higher than the national average - which is 29.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the week ending April 6 there were 12 Covid-19 deaths recorded in the region, which was 17 fewer than in the previous seven days.
