Coronavirus continues to be used as a weapon against police officers and paramedics in Britain as criminals spit or cough on them.
Across the UK, dozens have been sentenced to weeks or months in jail for the worrying rise in these types of assaults on officers.
A man who claimed to have coronavirus was jailed for a year for blowing at two police officers amid a crackdown on those using the deadly virus as a threat.
Another was sentenced to six months in prison for spitting at a hospital nurse in Merseyside. The pair were among a string of offenders convicted this week for crimes related to the Covid-19 crisis.
