PHILADELPHIA - A Delaware County family is suing TikTok after a young girl died while attempting a social media challenge they claim that she saw on the app. The family of 10-year-old Nylah Anderson, who died in December, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the social media giant Thursday in Philadelphia. Attorney Jeffrey Goodman, a partner at the firm representing the Anderson family, called TikTok a "dangerously popular app" and warned that what happened to Nylah could happen to any child. "The nature of the lawsuit is that TikTok, through their algorithms, decided that it was a good decision to send a how-to video to a 10-year-old on how to asphyxiate oneself," Goodman said.He explained that TikTok is unique from other social media apps and websites like YouTube. TikTok's "whole business model," according to Goodman, centers around its ‘For You' page, a section of the app that procures content based on a user's viewing habits."With TikTok you see the videos that it puts in front of you and the purpose of the algorithm is to try and get users hooked," Goodman said.

Police say he has a valid permit to carry the gun.One shot was fired, hitting the suspect in the head.The suspect also allegedly pulled his gun firing one or two shots, which did not strike the victim.Police found the suspect, a man in his 20s or 30s, lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head.Two semi-automatic guns were recovered from the scene, as well as the suspect's bicycle.

MEDIA, Pa. - A Pennsylvania man is facing charges after prosecutors said a smoke alarm call lead authorities to an apartment used for manufacturing meth and ghost guns. Emergency responders in Media, Pennsylvania were called to the 300 block of West State Street on May 8 for reports of a fire alarm. Authorities searched the building and eventually gained access to the upstairs apartments from a landlord, according to prosecutors. After a knock went unanswered, prosecutors said authorities entered the apartment and found it completely trashed.

A South Carolina man suffered a fatal heart attack while trying to bury the body of his girlfriend who he had strangled to death, investigators say.

PHILADELPHIA - Charges have been filed against a man shot by police during an accused screwdriver attack inside the 39th Police District building on Wednesday. The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office charged Dondrick Massey-Burch Thursday with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and reckless endangerment. The charges stem from an incident that occurred just before 9:20 a.m. inside the district headquarters located on the 2200 block of West Hunting Park Avenue. Police say an officer who was working in the operations room went to speak with a man who was in the lobby wearing a mask.

An autopsy on Dent determined she had been strangled and neighbors told officers they saw McKinnon digging a hole in his yard the day before, deputies said.An autopsy on McKinnon determined he died of a heart attack.
