A supermarket worker who worked through the pandemic and collected food parcels for families has died following a local Covid outbreak.

Described as the 'life and soul' of her store, customer service manager Teresa Gorman, who was in her 50s, died after a Covid outbreak hit the Tesco Extra in Stretford, Greater Manchester.

The store had been closed after the outbreak which saw around 50 staff members infected or self isolating. It's not clear if Teresa had coronavirus before she died.

Friends and colleagues at the Chester Road shop were left shocked by her sudden death last week and many took to social media to pay tribute, the Manchester Evening News reports.
