NEW YORK - A teenage rapper who is charged with shooting an NYPD officer is now free on bond.16-year-old Camrin Williams, who is also known as C Blu, posted his $250,000 bond after being locked up in a Brooklyn juvenile facility on gun and assault charges.Police Officer Kaseem Pennan was shot in a struggle with the teen in the Belmont section of the Bronx earlier this month.

Pennan was released from the hospital the next day after being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.The suspect, a known gang member who was on probation following a gun arrest in 2020, was taken to a hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening injury.The judge in the case has come under fire in the past for being overly lenient.

COLOMBO (News 1st); 200 buses that were taken out of service were repaired and re-added to the passenger transportation under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat premises on Tuesday (22).The project was implemented based on a concept of State Minister of Vehicle Regulation, Bus Transport Services and Train Compartments and Motor Car Industry Dilum Amunugama and under the guidance of Transport Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi.The importation of buses was also suspended along with the restriction on the importation of vehicles.Accordingly, steps were taken to repair the dilapidated buses as a solution to the shortage of buses and in order to save foreign exchange.Under the first phase of the project, 273 buses were repaired and added to the bus fleet in December 2020.Under the second phase, 200 buses that were completely out of service at 107 depots across the country were repaired at a cost of Rs. 136 million.The project is being carried out by Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) depots and Lakdiva Engineering Company with the full support of the Sri Lanka Public Transport Employees Union.The President inspected the standard of the buses, engaged in conversation with the SLTB employees.

NEW YORK - A man who opened fire with a .45-caliber handgun equipped with a high-capacity drum magazine, killing an NYPD officer and critically wounding another in a narrow apartment hallway in Harlem last week, has died, police said.Lashawn McNeil, 47, who was shot and wounded during the fatal encounter Friday night, died on Monday at Harlem Hospital, the NYPD confirmed.Three police officers had responded to an emergency call from an apartment on West 135th Street from a woman saying her adult son — McNeil — had become "problematic" on Friday night, Mayor Eric Adams said last week. The officers spoke with the woman and another person in the front of the apartment, police said. Neither said anything about McNeil, who was in a back bedroom, having a weapon, police said. Police Officer Jason Rivera and Police Wilbert Mora began walking down a narrow hallway to check on McNeil, who swung open the door and began shooting, police said.

2 NYPD police officers shot in Harlem

NEW YORK - Two NYC police officers were shot in Harlem on Friday night, the NYPD said. The officers were in critical condition, the department told FOX 5 NY. The officers were shot near West 135th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard.
