"Personal responsibility" will be a key factor when it comes to dealing with Covid-19 in the coming weeks and months, the Taoiseach has said.
Micheál Martin made the comments following strong criticism of a 50-person gathering organised by former minister for children Katherine Zappone at the Merrion Hotel in Dublin.
The Government has been accused of throwing public health guidelines "out the window" and changing Covid guidelines in the wake of the event, which was attended by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar.
The claim was made by Sinn Féin's Matt Carthy after the Government issued a statement saying that the Covid regulations "provide for organised outdoor events and gatherings of up to 200 people".
