Alberta Premier decries big tech and government censorship as Facebook account temporarily suspended

Danielle Smith took to Twitter Wednesday to announce that she had been suspended from posting on Facebook for a “few days” – pointing a finger at “big tech and government censorship.”In her tweet, Smith wrote: “Big tech and government censorship is becoming a danger to free speech around the world … As the Premier of a province of 4.6 million Albertans – if they can prevent me from communicating with you, imagine what they can do to any one of us.“Regardless of our political leanings, we must all stand against censorship.”The premier’s office said in a statement they are waiting for clarification from Facebook about the ban, and the information received so far indicates the ban will last for a “few days.”The statement did not provide what explanation, if any, the premier had received about why the ban was put in place.Global News also reached out to the social media platform but did not hear back.Danielle Smith was re-elected as premier on May 29, representing the United Conservative Party.Political scientist Duane Bratt said he’s curious to know what she’s been banned for, and that should have been made clear in the message she received from Facebook.“Even if that notice doesn’t include the reasons, why can’t they share that?” he asked. Colorado Parks and Wildlife on Friday shows a black bear pulling on a door handle and opening the door of a pickup truck.The video opened with the bear sniffing along the driver’s side of the silver truck parked on the side of the road. Once the animal made its way from the back bumper to the cab, it stood up and placed its paws on the handle of the back door.The door popped open, and the bear pulled it back even more, to reveal a red-and-white cooler in the back seat of the truck.The bear pops open the door.

NYPD rescues horse in the Bronx stuck in muddy water

NEW YORK - In a heartwarming display of heroism, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) rescued a horse that had fallen into water in the Bronx Friday afternoon.According to a video posted by NYPD, a 911 call came in about a "horse in the water" near Orchard Beach, and officials responded and assessed the situation. "Today, your @NYPD45Pct cops & various specialty units responded to the Bronx to safely rescue Bear, a local horse that got stuck in muddy water right near Orchard Beach," NYPD said in a Twitter post on May 12. Using rescue equipment, the team of officers managed to secure the horse and hoist the animal out of the water. The horse appeared to be uninjured. In the video, the horse can be seen standing and eating grass, following the removal from the water.
