Police looking for suspect after man, 2 girls injured in West Philadelphia hit-and-run

Andre Shuford PHILADELPHIA - A man and two girls were struck by a fleeing vehicle last month, and now police say a man is wanted in connection to the hit-and-run.Andre Shuford, 53, is accused of hitting all three victims at the intersection of 56th and Vine streets on September 2, then leaving them behind.Two girls, ages 5 and 3, sustained "bodily injuries," and a 43-year-old man suffered non-fatal injuries to his head and hip, according to police. Authorities say the 5-year-old girl was airlifted to CHOP in critical condition, but her current condition is not known. The younger child and man were said to be in stable condition.MORE HEADLINES:The striking vehicle was later found abandoned blocks away near the intersection of 53rd and Race streets. An active arrest warrant has been issued for Shuford, who police say is 5 feet 9 inches tall and 210 pounds with brown eyes.

They were initially worried and expressed concerns when 32-year-old Grady Lambert told them he was going to run across the country, from Oregon to South Carolina, to thank frontline workers at various hospitals for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic."He said, ‘I’m finishing this race one way or another, Mom,‘" Julie told FOX Television Stations. On August 28, Grady was nearly halfway done with his journey when he was hit and killed by a pickup truck driver in Carson County, Texas, near Amarillo. "The driver told the police that when he came over that crest [of the road], the sun hit his eyes and he did not see Grady," Julie said. Pennsylvania judge vows to move quickly on dispute over mail-in votes

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The judge in a case brought by Gov. Tom Wolf's administration against three counties that aren't reporting mail-in ballots lacking handwritten dates on their return envelopes told lawyers Friday she will rule as quickly as possible.Commonwealth Court Judge Renee Cohn Jubelirer presided over an online conference in the litigation brought by the Department of State under Wolf, a Democrat, against three Republican-majority counties over about 800 mail-in ballots from the May primary.The counties argue the ballots shouldn't be counted because of the legal requirement for the exterior envelope dates, which are not used to determine if voters are eligible or if the ballots are received in time.Wolf sued Berks, Fayette and Lancaster counties a month ago, seeking a court order to compel them to "certify" the mail-in votes in question.
