She was already unconscious when her family brought her to hospital, and she did not respond to resuscitation.On Friday, after 20 of Montoya’s friends and family spent about five hours standing around the coffin at her wake, they began to hear strange noises coming from inside, including knocking.In a since-viral video from the wake, mourners can be seen as they quickly opened the casket and found Montoya struggling to breathe inside.

Actor Treat Williams, whose nearly 50-year career included starring roles in the TV series Everwood and the movie Hair, died Monday after a motorcycle crash in Vermont, state police said. He was 71.

MARLTON, N.J. - Authorities say they have completely contained one of the two forest fires burning in the New Jersey Pinelands, while the other remains mostly contained.The New Jersey Forest Fire Service announced Monday that the fire in the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest in Burlington County remains at 1.3 square miles (3.4 square kilometers) and warned that smoke may still be visible for an extended period of time while firefighters work to mop up remaining hotspots.

PHILADELPHIA - Motorists who frequently use Interstate 95 should prepare to reroute their commute for the foreseeable future as crews work to repair a collapsed stretch of highway. "Just devastating honestly, the traffic is already pretty bad because 95 has been under construction for a while," Emily Orlando from Northeast Philadelphia told FOX 29.Officials say the collapse happened Sunday morning when a tanker truck hauling gasoline overturned underneath an overpass and exploded, causing the highway above to give way. The driver of the truck, identified told FOX 29 by family members as Nathaniel Moody, was killed in the explosion. Miraculously, however, there were no reported injuries to motorists or bystanders. RELATED COVERAGEOfficials said the southbound side of the highway will need to be demolished and rebuilt along with the northbound lanes.

A tour boat carrying 36 passengers capsized in western New York Monday.  LOCKPORT, N,Y. - One person was killed and multiple people were sent to local hospitals after a boat capsized Monday during a tour of an underground cavern system built to carry water from the Erie Canal beneath the western New York city of Lockport, officials said.Police and fire crews were called to the Lockport Cave Tours, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) northeast of Niagara Falls, at about 11:30 a.m. The tours take visitors on an underground boat ride illuminated only by small lights."The boat did a 180-degree turn, so the bottom of the boat was upright in the water," Lockport Fire Chief Luca Quagliano said at a news conference.

PHILADELPHIA - Family members have identified a man they say was driving a tanker truck that crashed and burst into flames, eventually leaving parts of I-95 completely destroyed Sunday morning.Nathaniel Moody, 53, has been identified by family members as the driver of the truck. Family members say officials informed them that human remains were recovered at the site of the crash and collapse, but they have not yet been positively identified.Nathaniel Moody, 53 (Family Photo) Moody's family described him as a husband, father, and experienced driver with more than 10 years behind the wheel. They say he was transporting fuel for a company in Pennsauken, New Jersey at the time of the crash.According to Pennsylvania State Police, the truck was carrying 8,500 gallons of a gasoline when officials say it lost control on the Cottman Avenue off-ramp curve, overturned, crashed on its side and caught fire.Extreme heat from the fire caused an overpass on the northbound side to completely collapse, while also compromising the southbound portion of the highway.  Featured Portions of Interstate 95 have collapsed after a large gasoline-fueled fire broke out Sunday morning, bringing traffic to a standstill and closing down parts of a major roadway.

Theodore “Ted” Kaczynski, the Harvard-educated mathematician known as the “Unabomber” who retreated to a dingy shack in the Montana wilderness and ran a 17-year bombing campaign that killed three people and injured 23 others, died Saturday.He was 81.Kaczynski died at the federal prison medical center in Butner, North Carolina, Kristie Breshears, a spokesperson for the federal Bureau of Prisons, told The Associated Press. PHILADELPHIA - What began as an argument, quickly escalated into a deadly shooting and barricade situation in Philadelphia's Holmesburg section early Saturday morning.Police say a 48-year-old man was visiting the mother of his child when he got into an argument with the mother's nephew and a friend of the nephew - both approximately 18 years old.All three men went outside, where the friend shot the victim in the chest, according to authorities.

PHILADELPHIA - A young woman is dead after at least one shot was fired inside a Northeast Philadelphia home early Saturday morning.Police say they found a 24-year-old shot in the chest when they responded to a house on the 2400 block of Welsh Road shortly after 1 a.m.She succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital a couple of hours later.MORE HEADLINES:A 36-year-old woman who stayed on the scene was taken into custody, according to authorities. BROWNS MILLS, N.J. - Fire crews in New Jersey are battling yet another wildfire as officials say a recent dry spell has helped allow wildfires to run rampant.Crews responded to the area of City Line Road in Browns Mills, Burlington County Friday afternoon for reports of a fire.SKYFOX was over the scene where smoke and flames could be seen emerging from a significant portion of the tree line. The New Jersey Forrest Fire Service asked residents to avoid the area and says their crews have responded to the scene to assess the situation. The fire comes as skies across the region finally began to clear after days of being impacted by smoke from wildfires burning in Canada.Earlier this week, firefighters were able to contain another wildfire in Jackson Township, New Jersey that burned 82 acres. Over the weekend, the Forest Fire Service announced complete containment of the 210-acre Flatiron wildfire blaze in Medford, Burlington County. That fire started just after midnight Friday and was burning toward 40 homes before crews managed to move the blaze away from the structures. Residents weren’t evacuated but were protected within their homes, some using garden hoses to help as crews worked in the backyards to conduct backfires and burnout operations, officials said.Last week crews stifled a wildfire that burned 5,000 acres in Bass River State Forest which stretches across Ocean and Burlington counties in the Pinelands.

American Airlines is allowing passengers to rebook their flights Thursday without fees as wildfire smoke from Canada is continuing to impact operations at airports throughout the Northeast. The airline says passengers traveling through certain airports in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., may now have their change fees waived if they bought tickets by June 7 and want to travel to the same destination city, among other conditions. "When severe weather or other uncontrollable events impact your flight and travel dates, you may be able to change your trip with no change fee," according to a portion of its website. PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia City Council is now taking up the issue of illegal street racing days after illegal car meet-ups across the city culminated in a deadly officer-involved shooting.6th District Councilmember Mike Driscoll introduced an "anti-drifting" bill on Thursday that would define "drifting," as well as "doughnuts" and "spin-outs," in the city’s reckless driving code. The bill would allow penalties of $2,000 for participants, and the ability for police to seize any vehicle that is being used to "drift" on city property.Driscoll says the bill was in the works, but after seeing videos and aftermath of the illegal meet-up at Cottman and Torresdale Avenue in his district last weekend, he wanted to get it out this week.It was co-signed by Councilmember Mark Squilla and Councilmember Katherine Gilmore Richardson, and will now head to committee."We have to send a strong message that we’re not going to tolerate this, and I tell you what, once we start seizing this vehicles, I think we’re going to get their attention," Driscoll said.The introduction of the bill comes on the same day 18-year-old Anthony Allegrini Jr. was laid to rest.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The family of a man who died after trying to save his son from strong currents at a Santa Cruz beach, is preparing to lay him to rest.Loved ones will honor the life of Srinivasa Murthy Jonnalagadda Wednesday at the Chapel of Angles funeral home in Fremont, according to a verified GoFundMe page.Tragedy struck on Memorial Day when Jonnalagadda took his family, including his 13-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter, to Panther Beach in Santa Cruz.Jonnalagadda's son was in the water, when a large tide knocked the boy over, followed by subsequent waves that pulled him further into the ocean, the family wrote on the GoFundMe."Srinivasa suddenly realized that his son was struggling to get out of the water," the family said. "Despite not knowing how to swim, he ran into the waters to help his son out to safety."Srinivasa Murthy Jonnalagadda died after he tried to rescue his son from the water at Santa Cruz's Panther Beach on Memorial Day.A good Samaritan also went into the water to help, and was able to rescue the boy."He (Jonnalagadda) however was unfortunately dragged by the riptide into deeper waters and horrifically drowned as his family helplessly bore witness," loved ones wrote.First responders were able to pull Jonnalagadda from the water and on to the shore.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Firefighters in New Jersey are battling another wildfire that sparked Tuesday as the state continue to navigate through a dangerous dry stretch. The New Jersey Forrest Fire Service said a blaze that broke around East Commodore Boulevard and Cedar Swamp Road in Jackson Township late Tuesday afternoon. At last check, officials said the fire had consumed about 15 acres of forest and was completely uncontained.The fire comes just days after a massive forest fire torched thousands of acres of woods in Burlington County, which prompted some evacuations and threatened nearby properties.New Jersey has endured a dangerous dry spell recently that fire officials say has helped provided ‘fuel’ for wildfires to run rampant.

Raquan Folk (Monmouth County Prosecutors Office)  ASBURY PARK, N.J. - A New Jersey man has been charged with luring and kidnapping an 11-year-old girl off the street in a popular beach town last week. The incident occurred back on Tuesday, May 30 around 5:30 p.m.The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office says an 11-year-old girl was walking along Ridge Avenue in Asbury Park when she was approached by a man in a white Kia. Authorities say the man, later identified as 29-year-old Raquan Folk, convinced the girl to get inside the car. MORE HEADLINES:Folk then allegedly drove to neighboring Neptune Township, stopped the car, and told the girl to take off her clothes.
