Hartman stated that it must be in the cab of the tractor-trailer. The trooper observed multiple people through the cracked door of the trailer, and secured the door to call for backup.

BROWNS MILLS, N.J. - Authorities say a young man was killed and another driver was seriously hurt in a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Burlington County.Emergency responders were called to the area of State Route 70 and Spring Lake Boulevard in Browns Mills just before 7 a.m. for reports of a serious crash. Authorities say five cars were involved in the crash, including a Chevy Trail Blazer driven by 28-year-old William Benner Jr.

PHILADELPHIA - Police say they are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with two separate robberies that both occurred at a South Philadelphia 7-Eleven. On April 27 at around 1:27 a.m., police say two suspects were captured on surveillance video entering the 7-Eleven on South 10th Street. Authorities say the first suspect went behind the counter and demanded the money while threatening the store employees with a hammer. Police in Philadelphia are investigating after multiple people were injured in a shooting in Kensington on Tuesday afternoon.  PHILADELPHIA - Four people, including two teenagers, are in the hospital after a shooting in Kensington late Tuesday morning. The shooting occurred on the 800 block of East Allegheny Avenue just before noon.Officers responded to the scene and found four people suffering from gunshot wounds. All four were taken to Temple University Hospital.Two of the victims, an 18-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, are in critical condition after both were shot in the upper body. A 16-year-old girl is stable after suffering a graze wound to the arm.

PHILADELPHIA - Three people are dead after a car crashed into a SEPTA station in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood, authorities say. Police say a car traveling at a high rate of speed crashed into a turnstile, pedestrians and then the Allegheny Avenue SEPTA station.  Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says the crash happened around 2:45 a.m. when an officer on detail at Kensington Avenue and Allegheny Avenue saw a Honda Pilot traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer heard the vehicle first and believes it was "easily going 100 miles per hour," Small says. Authorities say the car jumped the curb and hit a metal turnstile, hit three pedestrians standing on the pavement and then struck the Allegheny Avenue SEPTA station. Small says the crash was "really gruesome" as one of the victims was decapitated and their body was dismembered and burned due to a car fire that started after the crash. The body of another victim believed to be a female was severely mangled and crushed, according to police.

PHILADELPHIA - A man has died after being shot and killed in a broad daylight shooting in East Germantown on Tuesday, according to police. Authorities say the shooting happened at 10:07 a.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Police in Philadelphia are trying to identify a suspect wanted in connection with multiple sexual assaults across the city. According to police, the first incident happened on March 15 at 5:00 a.m.Authorities say a 35-year-old woman was walking in the area of Whitaker Avenue and Erie Avenue in North Philadelphia. A man in a black-colored car drove the victim to a remote area, showed a handgun and then sexually assaulted her, police say. Weeks later on April 5 at 5:15 a.m., a 28-year-old woman was leaving a convenience store at 3505 Kensington Avenue when she was approached by a man in a dark gray Dodge Charger with a covered tag, police say. According to authorities, the suspect forced her into his car, drove to the area of 4000 Orchard Street in Frankford and sexually assaulted her before letting her out on Torresdale Avenue. Police say another assault happened on April 21 at 1:00 a.m. in the area of Kensington Avenue and Huntingdon Street in Kensington when a 29-year-old woman was approached by a man in a silver sedan offering a ride, authorities say. The woman accepted and the suspect showed a gun, forced the woman into the back seat and sexually assaulted her in the area of 2600 Kensington Avenue, according to officials. Police say he also stole her iPhone 11 before dropping her off on Broad Street. Authorities are searching for a charcoal gray Dodge Charger four-door sedan made between 2016 and 2020.

A former Alabama jail official on the run with a murder suspect she was accused of helping escape shot and killed herself Monday as authorities caught up with the pair after more than a week of searching, officials said. The man she fled with surrendered.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities are searching for a driver who lead police on a high speed chase Monday night and disappeared into a wooded area near Villanova's campus.The Philadelphia Police Department said the pursuit began when officers tried to initiate a traffic stop near the intersection of Torresdale Avenue and Tyson Street around 8:30 p.m. Several police cars followed the black truck as it cruised down the northbound side of Interstate 476 for over an hour, at times accelerating to dangerous speeds. The truck's tires were also damaged during the pursuit, which caused massive sparks to shoot up. AdvertisementThe driver eventually exited the car and disappeared into a wooded area near Villanova's campus. 

PHILADELPHIA - Police are searching for the driver of a white van who police say briefly abducted two young girls and may still be holding a young boy captive. Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that the abduction happened near the intersection of 32nd and Diamond streets around 8 p.m.Small said two girls, ages 11 and 12, were walking a dog on 32nd Street when the driver of a white van pulled them into the vehicle. Once inside the vehicle, Small said the both girls claimed to see a young boy in distress with duct tape over his mouth. The girls began hitting the driver in the head, which Small said caused him to open the sliding door electronically and let the girls get out blocks away. The girls both used their cell phone to contact their parents who then contacted police, Small said. The pair, who are not related, were said to have been in a "special" relationship.A warrant from one of Casey White’s past arrests describes how he told a woman, "he wanted to kill her and have police kill him." The warrant stemmed from his attempted murder and kidnapping case from December 2015 in Limestone County, Alabama. White allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home one night and fired several shots at the woman, but missed her.

PHILADELPHIA - The Pennsylvania SPCA is asking for the public's help to identify the person who allegedly stole a puppy from the organization's headquarters in Philadelphia on Sunday. According to the PSPCA, a woman took a small white terrier mix out of a kennel and placed it in her purse around 2:19 p.m. and then left the building. The puppy had been adopted by a family and remained in the shelter for spay surgery scheduled for Monday, the agency says. The agency also says the dog's new family is "heartbroken" and leniency may be considered if the puppy is returned to the shelter immediately. The PSPCA is searching for this woman who allegedly stole a puppy from its Philadelphia headquarters on Sunday, May 8.  Officers with the PSPCA's Humane Law Enforcement team and police are investigating.

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. - A newly-released dashcam video showed a North Carolina state trooper putting himself in the path of an oncoming wrong-way driver to avoid a bigger disaster.The State Highway Patrol said just after midnight on April 8, troopers responded to a call about a wrong-way vehicle traveling from Johnston County into Wake County. Trooper Cody Thao arrived and traveled and exited onto the Interstate 40 eastbound ramp to Rock Quarry Road.
