PHILADELPHIA - Officials say the search for a shooting suspect is ongoing after the individual evaded police and SWAT outside of a West Philadelphia residence.

According to police, officers responded to a residence on the 200 block of Farson Street just after 1 a.m. for reports of a person screaming.

When officers arrived on scene, they heard several gunshots and saw a muzzle flash, Chief Inspect Scott Small says. Authorities say they discovered a 32-year-old woman who had been shot in the face and neck. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESShe was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital, where she is in critical condition, per police.

Investigators say the woman's boyfriend is the shooting suspect and he later barricaded himself inside the residence. The SWAT team was called in to assist, but authorities later realized the back door was partially open and the suspect was no longer inside, according to Small.

Body burned beyond recognition found in backseat of vehicle after car fire in Oxford Circle, authorities say

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities in Philadelphia are investigating after a body was found in the back seat of a burning car early Tuesday morning. According to officials, police responded to a car fire in the area of Sylvester and Howell Streets in the Oxford Circle section of the city just before 1 a.m. Police say officers and medics arrived on scene to find a Honda CRV fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire department put out the flames, authorities say they realized there was a body in the back seat. The individual in the back seat was pronounced dead shortly after, according to Chief Inspector Scott Small, who says the body was burned beyond recognition. Police: Man dies after being struck by 2 cars in Southwest Philadelphia; second driver sought

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are searching for the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian who later died in Southwest Philadelphia. Authorities say officers with the 12th District responded to the intersection of Island and Woodland Avenues just after 2 a.m. According to police, when officers and medics arrived on scene, they found a 27-year-old man lying on Island Avenue with severe trauma to his body. According to authorities, a 29-year-old man was found shot twice in the head in a Chrysler 200 parked in the area of S Cecil & Chestnut Streets. Police say the car was still running when officers arrived on scene and found the victim. North Philadelphia shooting leaves 2 teens injured, police say

PHILADELPHIA - Two teens were shot and injured in Philadelphia early Friday morning, police say. According to authorities, officers with the 22nd District responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 24th and Ridge Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. Police say officers found two teenagers injured by gunfire. Officials say a 16-year-old was shot in the arm and an 18-year-old was shot multiple times, including in the back. The two were taken to Temple Hospital, where the 16-year-old was placed in stable condition and the 18-year-old was placed in critical condition. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESChief Inspector Scott Small says another crime scene was found in the area of 24th and Jefferson, where five spent shell casings were discovered. Authorities also say a Hyundai sedan in the area had the passenger side rear window broken and the driver's door was open. According to investigators, the car's owner told police someone had just broken into the vehicle, which had a broken steering column. Police are investigating to see if the two injured teens were attempting to steal the car.
