Spain captured footage of fin whale with a severely bent spine struggling to swim off the Mediterranean coast.The Spanish aquarium Oceanografic Valencia shared video of the whale on social media and said the animal was spotted on March 4 by a beach in Cullera, near Valencia.

A team of biologists and veterinarians from the aquarium were called to view the whale after a boat captain reported that the creature was trapped in a fishing net.

Biologists observed the whale’s obvious swimming difficulties and determined it would probably die of starvation as a direct result.The aquarium’s team attempted to attach a tracking device to the fin whale but were unable to because of its overly curved spine.After a few hours, the whale reportedly swam into deeper waters and disappeared.According to Live Science, it’s possible for large whales to be born with or develop scoliosis at a young age.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man who is accused of "randomly" attacking a person at a laundromat in Tennessee and is a suspect in a series of other similar attacks was arrested, according to authorities. Khadree Renfro, 30, was taken into custody last week by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and booked on three counts of attempted criminal homicide, officials said. The police department previously shared footage from inside a laundromat in the Nashville area which showed a man "who randomly, and without provocation," attacked a 45-year-old patron on March 22. Montreal man, 19, charged with 2nd-degree murder in stabbing deaths of 3 family members

scene of the triple-homicide in Montreal’s Rosemont neighborhood is facing three charges of second-degree murder.Police believe Arthur Galarneau killed three of his family members. The three victims are Mylène Gingras, 75, Francine Gingras-Boucher 53, and Richard Galarneau, 53.The suspect appeared in court by telephone Saturday morning.Montreal police confirmed the family link between Galarneau and all three victims, but did not confirm the respective relationships.

They said Xcel Energy voluntarily notified state agencies and reported the leak of tritium to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission soon after it was confirmed and that the leak of 400,000 gallons (1.5 million liters) of radioactive water never reached a threshold that would have required public notification."This is something that we struggle with because there is such concern with anything that is nuclear," said Victoria Mitlyng, a spokesperson with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

MANHATTAN, New York - A civilian helped catch an armed suspect Thursday, who was fleeing from police in New York City. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Southern District of New York, the suspect, Jason Fleming, was arrested on March 16 after brandishing loaded weapons following a dispute in a crowded bodega in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.Surveillance video shows Fleming, 39, outside the bodega pulling back his coat momentarily to reveal a rifle that had been swung over his shoulder.Police officers then approached the suspect after a witness called 911, and Fleming took off running down the sidewalk. In the footage, the citizen pushes the suspect into a nearby fence.

Man stabbed in neck, back near Temple University's campus, police say

PHILADELPHIA - A young man is fighting for his life after police say he was stabbed twice near Temple University's besieged North Philadelphia campus. Investigators say the 25-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and back on the 1200 block of Diamond Street around 8 p.m. Responding officers from the Philadelphia Police Department rushed the victim to Temple University Hospital where he was placed in critical condition. No arrests were reported immediately following the stabbing.
