COLOMBO (News 1st): The Foreign Minister’s proposal to establish formal diplomatic relations with East Timor, was approved by the Cabinet.East Timor has expressed its willingness to formalize diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka and a number of Asian countries, and the Foreign Minister said that the country has already established diplomatic relations with several countries including India, China, Japan, and South Korea.The Foreign Minister’s proposal also highlighted that establishing diplomatic relations with East Timor will prove to be important for Sri Lanka’s economic and political support in the international arena..
