Sooty Show presenter Matthew Corbett almost died as he battled the deadly coronavirus from an intensive care unit. The 71-year-old puppeteer, who hosted the classic children's show for two decades, revealed it had been 'touch and go' as he faced the pandemic from hospital.

After contracting the virus, Matthew had been rushed to hospital in Warrington where he spent ten days in intensive care.
