Willner died at home in New York City on April 7 after showing symptoms of the coronavirus, according to various reports. Since 1980, Willner worked on the music for the late night mainstay in various capacities, which Kate McKinnon described for the in memoriam segment that ran at the close of the episode on Saturday night (April 11).
