PHILADELPHIA –Authorities say a SEPTA police officer is in stable condition after a double shooting lead to a shootout with police at a property in Frankford Wednesday night.Sergeant Eric Gripp told reporters that officers near the Arrott Transportation Center heard gunshot around 7 p.m.

Police found two women, 57 and 42, with gunshot wounds to the hip-area near the intersection of Griscom and Arrott streets. Those women are expected to recover.

Police chased the armed suspect to a property on the 4700 block of Leiper Street where he barricaded himself inside and fired at police from different floors, Gripp said.During the gunfight, SEPTA Police Chief Thomas Nestel told reporters that a Philadelphia police officer became pinned down behind a small wall.

Nestel said a SEPTA police officer, who is also a SWAT team member, drew his assault weapon and charged at the gunman providing covering fire to free the trapped officer.

NORTH WILDWOOD, N.J. - The City of North Wildwood has terminated its contract with its waste removal company amid threats from the company saying they'd leave trash in the streets, city officials allege. According to a press release from the city, the contract with Gold Medal Environmental New Jersey, Inc. (GME) was terminated. The city says GME is a "subsidiary of the multibillion-dollar private equity firm Kinderhook Industries, headquartered in New York City." According to the city, GME's CEO showed up at the North Wildwood Public Works Building on March 8 insisting that the city pay GME two to three times the agreed upon contract amount or the company would "leave the trash in the streets." Squatters found inside Maryland apartment after residents return from vacation

GREENBELT, Md. - Two suspects are on the run after being found squatting in an apartment while the residents were on vacation, according to authorities.Police released photos of the suspects, a man, and a woman, in hopes that the public can help identify them.The Greenbelt Police Department said on April 5 the residents of the apartment came home from vacation to find their front door was damaged, and the apartment was mostly empty. The apartment is located in the 9300 block of Edmonston Road in Greenbelt, Maryland.SUBSCRIBE TO FOX 5 DC ON YOUTUBEThe residents reported to police that after entering the apartment, they found two suspects, who they did not know, lying on a bed.

PHILADELPHIA - New cell phone video shows officers scramble to find cover as a barricaded gunman opens fire from the window of a Frankford apartment building Wednesady night.Philadelphia police say officers who were in the area of the Arrott Transportation Center when they heard gunshots around 7 p.m. The officers responded to Griscom and Arrott streets where they found two women, ages 57 and 42, with gunshot wounds to the hip area. Sources tell FOX 29 a third gunshot victim later arrived at the hospital. Police then spotted a suspect, who was armed, and chased him to a property on the 4700 block of Leiper Street.
