Suggestions that the cost of self-catering holidays in Ireland has soared to several hundred euro a night - particular in the west - have been dismissed as "not the norm" by the Irish Self-Catering Federation.
ISCF chairperson Jacinta Doolan said the 5,000 members of the organisation have absorbed any extra costs related to Covid-19.
She said that while it might be difficult to find a property along the west coast at this stage of the summer, if people go a little inland, "they will get good value with three bed homes averaging €120 to €150 a night".
