Second Lanarkshire council confirms kids are to test for COVID before returning to school

Secondary school pupils in North Lanarkshire are being asked to take a lateral flow test before returning to the classroom on Wednesday.

The confirmation comes after we told you earlier that South Lanarkshire Council were asking the same of kids at schools there.

Schools across the county are also requesting that all youngsters take further home COVID tests twice a week as the new term gets underway, as concerns continue to grow over the spread of the Omicron variant.
