Scottish Government confirm 24 deaths and 2,732 new Covid cases in last 24 hours

A total of 24 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the Scottish Government have confirmed The latest figures for Scotland showed that 2,732 new cases had also been identified overnight.

The daily death toll of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days now stands at 9,143 since March 2020.

There are currently 926 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 60 being treated in intensive care.To date 4,314,144 people have received their first vaccination with 3,903,299 having a second jab.It follows news that travellers returning from red list countries will no longer have to quarantine in hotels after the Scottish Government scrapped the list.Passengers arriving from Colombia, Peru,
