Scottish Government announces no deaths and 224 covid cases in last 24 hours

coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The latest figures for Scotland showed that 224 new cases had been identified overnight. It means the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – remains the same at 7,661 .

There are currently 68 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 8 being treated in intensive care.The total number of positive cases since the pandemic hit stands at 227,248.To date 2,883,384 people have received their first vaccination with 1,450798 having a second jab.The figures come as students and staff at Scots higher education facilities are now able to access rapid coronavirus testing through their local college.More than 100,000 lateral flow testing.
