Scottish Government announces nine deaths and 1,018 Covid cases in last 24 hours

Scottish Government has confirmed that nine people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The latest figures for Scotland also showed that 1,018 new cases had been identified overnight.The total number of positive cases since the pandemic started stands at 344,158.It means the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – sits at 7,930.There are currently 445 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 64 being treated in intensive care.To date 4,009,611 people have received their first vaccination with 3,180,160 having a second jab.
