Scottish Government announces 3,080 new covid cases in last 24 hours

The Scottish Government has confirmed there have been 3,080 new Covid-19 cases in the latest 24 hour period. According to the latest figures for Scotland there were nine new deaths recorded.

A total of 708 people were in hospital with the virus, and 66 patients were in intensive care units. To date, 4,341,224 people have received their first vaccination with 3,941,715 having had a second jab.It comes after Nicola Sturgeon announced changes to the Covid vaccine passport scheme during a speech at Holyrood on Tuesday.Since last month, Scots have been required to show evidence they have had at least two doses of the coronavirus vaccine to gain entry into a number of ‘high risk’ venues or events.
