PHILADELPHIA - The School District of Philadelphia on Wednesday will announce plans for the 2021-2022 school year as the city begins to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic.

Superintendent Dr. William Hite and Mayor Jim Kenney will hold a press briefing at 10 a.m. at Spring Garden School in North Philadelphia.

You can watch the briefing in the player above or on FOX 29's LIVE page.The School District of Philadelphia has slowly funneled a limited number of students back into classrooms as caseloads have steadily fallen and vaccinations have become more widespread.

In early March, the city allowed PreK-2nd grade students who elected the hybrid learning model back into school buildings for two days of in-person instruction.
