The RTÉ Investigates programme 'Inside Ireland's Covid Battle: Life and Death' has won the News and Current Affairs award at the inaugural RTS Ireland Television Awards 2021.
For the programme, RTÉ Investigates spent 30 days at Dublin's St James's Hospital. It showed how doctors and nurses were fighting to keep people alive - revealing the courage of healthcare staff, as well as patients and their families.
Other winners included 'Normal People', which won the TV drama award; 'Abbeyfealegood'; 'The Funeral Director' and David Brophy's 'Unsung Heroes', which all won factual awards. 'New Gaels' won the award in the sport category, while broadcaster Dara Ó Briain won the outstanding contribution award.
