But a retiring Philadelphia crossing guard wanted to do things a little differently. For the past 20 years Marie Garrison has provided a safe passage for kids and adults at an intersection in Port Richmond.

Over the years, her friendliness and warmth have made her a staple in the community. "It is amazing! I know when my daughter comes home from school she is always safe," a local parent said. "Every single child ‘Hi Mia!

Hi Anthony!’ Yeah it’s amazing."After two decades of memories, Garrison wanted to do something special for the community before she hung up her yellow vest.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a man accused of randomly punching three women on a Philadelphia sidewalk is a suspect in two other similar attacks in the city, including a sexual assault.Chief Inspector Frank Vanore provided an update on the Wednesday night assault that was captured on a neighbor's doorbell camera. Video footage of the assault shows three women - a 27-year-old and two 29-year-olds - walking on the 2900 block of Morris Street when the attacker randomly slugs one of them in the face. WILMINGTON, Del. - Four people have been indicted on dozens of charges in Delaware after an investigation into a series of incidents including stolen cars and shootings. According to the Wilmington Police Department, Kyair Keys, Walike Parham, Markel Richards and Jahmir Morris-Whit collectively face 75 charges for crimes between January 14 and January 22. Of those charges, 63 are felonies, according to police. Two days later on January 22, officers responded to reports of gunshots at a BP gas station on the 200 block of South Heald Street, authorities say.

Philly Police announce charges in Feb. homicide of man found burned near Kelly Drive

FAIRMOUNT - Philadelphia Police announce charges in a homicide case from February, in which a 20-year-old man’s remains were found burned in Fairmount Park.Officials say they are bringing charges against Kylen Pratt, of the 2900 block of Oxford Street. The charges include Murder, Abuse of a Corpse and Tampering with Evidence.Kylen Pratt 20-year-old Nassire Johnson’s body was found burned February 20, 2022, around noon, on a cobblestone trail at Brewery Hill and Kelly Drive.RELATED HEADLINES:Authorities said an autopsy determined his death was a homicide.Police are investigating near Kelly Drive after human remains were found in Fairmount. According to his family, Johnson was missing for several days before police say his body was discovered burning in Fairmount Park off Kelly Drive.Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Homicide Unit at 215-86-3334.
