TRENTON, N.J. - A police pursuit that ended in a crash on a New Jersey highway led to the discovery of firearms stolen from a Pennsylvania gun store, sources say.FOX 29 was on scene at Rt. 29 in Trenton near the Calhoun Street Bridge, where Trenton and Middletown Township Police were investigating and collecting evidence. Police say officers were chasing the car before it crashed on the New Jersey highway. Evidence collected from the vehicle's trunk included multiple firearms, both assault rifles and handguns, with tags from a gun store. Sources tell FOX 29's Steve Keeley, that the chase began in Pennsylvania at a gun store in Bucks County. Five people were captured on surveillance video using a Kia, reported stolen out of Philadelphia, to access the second story of the LugerMan gun store in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, sources say. While inside, the suspects broke glass cases and stole the firearms, per police sources. As officers from the Middletown Township Police Department arrived on scene, they chased the Kia and used stop sticks to disable the vehicle. Law enforcement sources say the vehicle made it over the Calhoun Street Bridge, where Trenton Police got involved, capturing three of the five suspects. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESEugene Golubtsov, the owner of the LugerMan store, spoke with FOX 29 and detailed the events he saw on his store's surveillance video.

PHILADELPHIA - Smoke from a wildfire more than 600 miles away is impacting the Delaware Valley, bringing hazy conditions to the area. In Halifax, Nova Scotia, evacuations are underway as tens of thousands of homes are threatened by a burning wildfire. Several homes in the area have already been burned, officials say. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the wildfires in a tweet, calling the situation "incredibly serious." Despite being hundreds of miles away, smoke from the burning wildfires is impacting the Delaware Valley. In Chester County, the West Chester Fire Department is warning about hazy smoke and a burning odor in the air. Officials say there is no immediate threat to the area. FOX 29's Sue Serio says clockwise circulation around a low-pressure system is causing the winds to blow in the direction of the Philadelphia area. More smoke is expected to impact areas from New York down to Washington D.C., on Wednesday, according to Serio. Forecasters say it is likely an air quality alerts will be issued in several areas on Wednesday. 

EASTON, Pa. - At least 20 people have been displaced after a fire tore through more than a dozen rowhomes in Northampton County, authorities say. According to officials, the fire broke out just before 4 p.m. on the 900 block of Ferry Street in Easton. Fire crews respond to a fire damaging homes in Easton.  Officials say it took firefighters hours to extinguish the flames. At least three people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities say. Residents watch as firefighters work to extinguish flames damaging multiple rowhomes on Ferry Street in Easton.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to fire officials. This is a developing story.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Crews in Gloucester County are working to contain a wildfire burning throughout Gloucester County. According to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, the fire is burning in Franklin and Monroe Townships in Gloucester County. The wildfire, named the Box Turtle Fire, is 100 acres in size and has been 0% contained, officials say. Authorities say so far 1 structure was threatened, but there have not been any evacuations or road closures. This is a developing story.

A union representing teachers in Dumfries and Galloway has warned that levels of pupil anxiety and depression have “greatly increased” since the Covid-19 pandemic.

CHESTER, Pa. - Police in Chester County are investigating a shooting, officials say. Authorities say the shooting took place near the parking lot of Subaru Park, the home stadium of the Philadelphia Union, around 11:20 p.m. on Sunday. According to the Chester Police Chief, officers responded to the area of Front and Norris Streets for a report of a woman being shot in the hand. Responding officers arrived and saw a large crowd on scene, police say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESWhile treating the injured woman, officers received calls about more shooting victims showing up to a local hospital, officials say. Five juveniles and two adults were injured as a result of the shooting, according to police. One juvenile is in critical condition, while the rest are expected to physically recover, officials say.

PHILADELPHIA - A shooting claimed the life of another teen as Memorial Day gun violence continued overnight in Philadelphia.Police say they found the 16-year-old boy on the 2400 block of Clarion street just after midnight Monday.He was shot one time in the head, and pronounced dead on scene by medics.

PHILADELPHIA - A traffic stop quickly became a homicide investigation after a deadly discovery was made in Philadelphia's Kingessing section Sunday night.Police had pulled over a speeding car on 57th and Springfield streets when they found an unresponsive man in the back seat.The 20-year-old was suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.As officers transferred the victim to their patrol car, police say the driver and passenger jumped back into the car and sped off, leaving the victim behind.MORE HEADLINES:Police then transported the victim to a local hospital, where he died just minutes later.

Schools have been shut down and a local state of emergency has been declared for the communities affected by a forest fire which continues to rage near Halifax on Monday.

PHILADELPHIA - A North Philadelphia community is grappling with the loss of a recently-opened grocery store after a stolen car crashed into the building, police say. According to officials, the stolen vehicle crashed into the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market on N American Street early Sunday morning. Crews remove a stolen vehicle from the inside of a Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in North Philadelphia.  Philadelphia police say the driver of the stolen vehicle did get injured in the crash, but no additional information was released. FOX 29 was at the supermarket's grand opening in North Philadelphia in July 2022. The neighborhood was considered a food desert prior to the opening of the store, which provided residents with quality groceries nearby. The front entrance to the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in North Philadelphia is blocked off after a stolen vehicle crashed into the building.  MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe next closest grocery store is more than a mile away and is known for high prices, according to residents. The store owner says they are unsure how long it will be closed but hope to reopen as soon as possible.

A 17-year-old boy who was reportedly stabbed outside a Philadelphia high school on Friday was driven to a nearby hospital by police. PHILADELPHIA - A teenage boy is recovering after police say he was stabbed outside a high school in West Philadelphia on Friday. Investigators say the 17-year-old was stabbed one time in the backside outside of Parkway West High School just after 2:30 p.m. The teen was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was placed in stable condition, according to police. Authorities have not said what caused the stabbing.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a shooter and a person of interest in connection with a fatal shooting on a SEPTA bus in Philadelphia. The shooting took place on Wednesday night inside a bus on the 5200 block of Germantown Avenue, police say. According to investigators, a confrontation between the suspect and a young man broke out on the bus before shots were fired.
