Perthshire were this morning set to pay tribute to a popular binman who died from COVID-19. Ribbons were tied to wheelie bins throughout much of Strathearn on Wednesday and Thursday as a mark of respect for local refuse collector Scott Hunter, who has passed away on Monday.
Scott, who lived in Auchterarder, was based at Crieff Recycling Centre andworked on one of the refuse collection shifts serving Crieff, Comrie and St Fillans.
Tributes to the popular binman, who died on Monday this week, have been flooding in on social media. Gillian Brock, vice-chair of Comrie Community Council, said: “He was our bubbly, fun-loving, gentle giant of a refuse driver for many years in Comrie. “Such a character, he was always smiling, waving and at times.
