PHILADELPHIA - A former Pennsylvania elementary school principal is facing charges after police say he peered into the windows of several South Jersey homes and even tried to force a woman into her bedroom.Danny McEaddy was arrested in August after investigators believe he spent 7 months looking into windows of homes around Sicklerville. The Upper Darby School District confirmed to FOX 29 that McEaddy was the principal at Hillcrest Elementary school. Investigators from the Winslow Township Police Department say in February McEaddy entered a woman's home and tried to force her into her bedroom, but got away before police arrived. In May, police say he returned to the home and peered into the window. McEaddy was arrested in August when police say he was caught peering into a home in Pitman Borough.

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, at its meeting held on 05 October 2022, decided to maintain the Standing Deposit Facility Rate (SDFR) and the Standing Lending Facility Rate (SLFR) of the Central Bank at their current levels of 14.50 percent and 15.50 percent, respectively. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered the latest macroeconomic conditions, expected developments, and macroeconomic projections. The Board noted the tight monetary conditions prevailing at present, the decelerating pace of inflation, and the envisaged disinflation path in the near term supported by both domestic and global factors. The Board was of the view that the monetary conditions remain sufficiently tight to achieve the envisaged disinflation path in the period ahead. The contractionary fiscal policies would complement the effects of tight monetary policy measures already in place, helping to mitigate any build-up of aggregate demand pressures, thereby anchoring inflation expectations and bringing down headline inflation to the targeted level of 4-6 percent over the medium term.-Domestic economic activity is expected to remain subdued during 2022, before recovering in 2023 As per the GDP estimates published by the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS), the real economy is estimated to have contracted by 4.8 percent in the first half of 2022, on a year-on-year basis. The economy is expected to contract in the second half of 2022 as well, impacted by tighter monetary and fiscal conditions, along with the continuation of supply-side constraints and uncertainty surrounding the business environment amidst shortages of foreign exchange in the domestic foreign exchange market, among

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Presidential Media Division says that facilities for the newly-appointed State Ministers will be brought under the management of public expenditure. Accordingly, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has emphasized that authorities should make every effort to utilize public funds spent by the government in a frugal and efficient manner, and therefore several arrangements have been made for better management of public expenditure. Therefore, the President's Secretary has instructed all Ministry Secretaries the following steps; 1- A separate expenditure head is not allocated for state ministries. COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has expressed concern over the ill-health of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, who is also the Head of the Commonwealth. The President has wished Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth her a speedy recovery, said the President's Media Division.The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace has said.All the Queen's children are either at, or are travelling to, her Scottish estate near Aberdeen."Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," a statement said.The Queen is comfortable, it added.Prince Charles has travelled there with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.The Duke of York and the Count and Countess of Wessex are travelling to the Scottish estate, about 40 miles (64km) west of Aberdeen.The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, was already in Scotland undertaking engagements.The Duke of Cambridge is also on his way, with the Duchess of Cambridge remaining in Windsor with their children.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who had been in Germany, are travelling to Balmoral, a spokesperson for the couple said.The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a meeting of her Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.There are clearly pressing concerns for the Queen's health – much more explicitly put than before and without any reference to this only being about difficulties with mobility.There are also warnings against unfounded speculation, such as that she might have had a fall.

COLOMBO (News 1st); 36 State Ministers will take oaths in the presence of President Ranil Wickremesinghe today (8) at the President's Office. According to a Senior Cabinet Minister, 36 new State Ministers will be sworn in. A Senior Cabinet Minister also said that several MPs representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) are among the new State Ministers.

COLOMBO (News 1st); All the District Secretaries have been informed to make necessary preparations to face possible disaster situations.On the instructions of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, the Secretary to the President, Saman Ekanayake, has instructed the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government to issue direct orders to the relevant ministries and departments.Accordingly, covering all the 25 districts, the district secretaries will coordinate the efforts while the Geology and Mines Bureau, Meteorology Department, and the Building Research Institutes will provide technical support.The Disaster Management Center under the Ministry of Defense will provide the necessary instructions to the relief service officers at the district disaster management coordination units and divisional secretariat level.All line ministries have been notified to take necessary measures to avoid emergency situations and maintain public life, as well as to provide the necessary support for the speedy implementation of necessary relief programs while maintaining the efficiency of the process at a high level, in the event of an emergency disaster situation.The 117 hotline will be operational round the clock while steps have also been taken to keep the National Disaster Relief Services Centre (NDRSC) operational 24 hours a day, the Disaster Management Center said.Those affected by disasters will be provided food, lodging, and other facilities through the NDRSC.

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Provincial Councillor of JVP, Wasantha Samarasinghe, demanded for President Ranil Wickremesinghe to released the conditions stipulated in the IMF agreement.Samarasinghe said that previously, while the preliminary discussions with the IMF were underway, President Wickremesinghe had questioned former CBSL Governor Ajit Nivaard Cabraal about the conditions. COLOMBO (News 1st); President Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued an Extraordinary Gazette Notification declaring all services connected to the supply of electricity, petroleum, fuel, and health services as essential public services.Accordingly, the gazette, dated 3rd September, has declared the supply of electricity, the supply or distribution of petroleum products and fuel.Moreover, President Wickremesinghe has also declared all service, work or labour done in connection with the maintenance, and the reception, care feeding, and treatment, of patients in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries, and other similar institution, as essential.
