PHILADELPHIA - Police say a teenager was killed Monday during a broad daylight shooting near Temple University's campus.

Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 2200 block of North 15th Street just before 3 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

Police say they found a male victim, believed to be between 14-18-years old, suffering from gunshot wounds to the shoulder, back and torso.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died, according to police. The deadly shooting happened near Temple University's campus, an area that has seen a recent spike in violent crimes.
