DEWEY BEACH, Del. - Police have identified a man who was struck and killed by a car along a highway in a Delaware beach town after they say he was forced out of a rideshare vehicle following an argument with the driver.Sidney Wolf, 43, of Clarksburg, Maryland died just before 1:45 a.m. Sunday on Coastal Highway near Anchors Way in Dewey Beach.Police say Wolf and five others hired a Lyft driver to pick them up in Dewey Beach and take them to their residence in nearby Bethany Beach.After a disagreement with the group, police say the driver stopped the vehicle in the middle of the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway, terminated the ride, and demanded the passengers exit.Authorities say a car traveling southbound swerved to miss the Lyft driver’s stopped vehicle and struck Wolf who had just exited and was standing in the roadway.Police say Wolf died at the scene.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police say they are looking for a group of suspects caught on video before a man was shot and killed on Kelly Drive earlier this month.The victim, 30-year-old Taion Carter, died after he was reportedly shot once in the back of the head on the 2400 block of Kelly Drive on July 16.Witnesses told police they heard gunshots, then saw what appeared to be two teenage males jump in a car and flee the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.New video released by police shows several cars performing illegal maneuvers in a nearby parking lot around 6 a.m. Police say the group and the victim got into an altercation, which led to the fatal shooting.The suspects in the video are being sought by police in connection to the homicide.One of the vehicle seen in the video is a blue 2013 Dodge Charger with a black front end, black rims and Pennsylvania tag LSM-6861.Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia police at 215-686-8477. 

PHILADELPHIA - A shooting in North Philadelphia left one man injured after police say gunfire erupted early Monday morning.The victim reportedly drove himself to the hospital after being shot twice, once in the arm and once in the ankle.A vehicle parked outside the hospital had several bullet holes in the body and window, as well as at least one window completely shattered.Police say at least 20 shell casings were found at the scene on the 1100 block of Stiles Street around 1:13 a.m. No information about suspects or motive were made available.

DEWEY BEACH, Del. - A ride-share turned tragic for a group of friends as a chaotic scene unfolded on a Delaware highway early Sunday morning.Delaware State Police say the incident began when six friends hired a ride-share driver to pick them up around 1:44 a.m. On their way to a home in Bethany Beach, a disagreement reportedly erupted between the group and the driver. The driver then stopped on Route 1 and demanded the group get out of the vehicle, according to police.As the group exited the vehicle, police say a car hit one of the friends trying to avoid the ride-share vehicle.

PHILADELPHIA - A 19-year-old was fatally struck by at least one bullet as shots rang out in Kensington late Saturday night., according to police.Police say the male victim was shot in the head at the intersection of Weymouth and Clearfield streets just before midnight.A second victim arrived at Episcopal Hospital moments after the shooting, and was transported to Temple University Hospital.

GREENSBURG, Pa. - A judge has ruled that prosecutors will be allowed to seek a first-degree murder conviction against a man accused of killing a sleeping woman by firing several shots into a western Pennsylvania home in the mistaken belief that someone inside was part of a botched drug deal.Nathan Quidetto, 23, of Unity, is charged in Westmoreland County with criminal homicide, reckless endangerment and weapons offenses in the July 2020 death of 52-year-old Tracy Marie Squib.State police allege that Quidetto wanted to scare someone involved in the botched drug deal but drove to the wrong house — "not even close to being at the right house," a police spokesman said — and fired several shots at the home around 4 a.m., hitting Squib, who was sleeping inside along with her husband and two children.Defense attorney Emily Smarto argued there was no evidence that Quidetto intended to kill Squib and argued that the first-degree murder count should be dismissed, but the Tribune-Review reports that the judge disagreed.Common Pleas Court Judge Tim Krieger said defendants can be convicted of murder "where the commonwealth proves that the only difference between the intended result and the actual result is the person harmed."Krieger also rejected a separate defense attempt to bar prosecutors from using Quidetto’s statements to investigators.

WEST PHILADELPHIA - A woman in her late 20 to early 30s is in critical condition after she was shot in the head in a West Philadelphia store.The shooting happened on the 5200 block of Market Street Friday, around 5:15 in the evening, according to officials.Police arrived to the scene to find the woman, thought to be in her late 20s or early 30s, shot in the head inside a West Philadelphia store.Police rushed her to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where she was placed in critical condition.Police are investigating the scene.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a truck used in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Philadelphia has been found, but they are still searching for the driver. According to investigators, 28-year-old Nyier Cunningham was struck by a dark-colored pick-up near the intersection of 52nd Street and Wyalusing Avenue around 1 a.m. Friday morning. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department responded to the crash and found Cunningham on the sidewalk suffering from injuries to his head and torso. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESCunningham was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries, according to police.

LOWER OXFORD TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A Pennsylvania State Trooper has been charged for using his police vehicle to hit a horse until it fell over in Lower Oxford Township. According to State Police, the trooper has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals for an incident that occurred on December 28, 2021. Authorities say Corporal Michael Perillo responded to assist at an incident involving a loose horse in the road. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESWhen he arrived on scene, Perillo drove a patrol vehicle into the horse multiple times, causing it to fall and he pinned it to the pavement, where it was euthanized by another trooper, according to officials. Police say the horse, which had already been struck by another driver, was on the shoulder of Rt.

PHILADELPHIA - A motorcyclist has died after he became trapped under a dump truck in southwest Philadelphia on Friday morning. Police say officers responded to the area of 61st Street and Passyunk Avenue around 4:20 a.m.According to authorities, a 40-year-old driver on a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling northbound on 61st Street when a dump truck pulled doubt of a recycling center on the eastern side of the street. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESPolice say the motorcycle driver laid his bike down and skidded several feet into the truck, becoming trapped underneath. The motorcycle's driver was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:00 a.m., according to officials. The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed, according to police.

PHILADELPHIA - Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department are looking into a hit-and-run that left a cyclist dead on Friday morning. Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small says the incident occurred just before 1 a.m.

BLACKWOOD, N.J. - Neighbors are fed-up with homeowners accused of throwing paid parties at their pool, with loud music and armed security.Police say they met with the homeowners back in June, after getting complaints, to warn them they cannot run a business in a residential neighborhood.Then, it escalated. PHILADELPHIA - Family members and loved ones of a Philadelphia senior citizen who died following an attack by a group of kids gathered to mourn and demand change. Authorities say 73-year-old James Lambert was attacked by a group of youths last month on the 2100 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue around 3 a.m.The Philadelphia Police Department released surveillance video of the attack and announced a $20k reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. The video appeared to show a group of teens surrounding Lambert and some of them could be seen picking up a traffic cone and hitting Lambert. RELATED COVERAGEOfficials say Lambert was knocked to the ground during the attack.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office announced it withdrew charges against a man accused of raping a woman aboard a SEPTA train in April, and added new charges in two other incidents involving minors.Quintez Adams, 28, was arrested in late April after authorities believed he sexually assaulted a woman on SEPTA’s Broad Street Line between Erie and Girard stations. Nearly three months after his arrest, the D.A.'s office withdrew the charges saying the investigation "did not support the initial charges or account relayed by law enforcement at that time."Upon his arrest, Adams was also charged in two other indecent exposure incidents that occurred in the previous two months.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say five people were hurt and several cars were vandalized when three unruly swimmers became violent after being told to leave a Philadelphia pool. The incident happened Thursday afternoon at the McVeigh Playground Rec Center on the 400 block of East Ontario Street, according to police.Investigators say staff members repeatedly asked three female swimmers to leave for "unruly behavior" but they refused and became hostile. MESA, Ariz. - Police in Mesa arrested a couple after investigators discovered their children living in a home full of trash and no running water.An anonymous tip led detectives to the home on July 20.The couple's three young girls told officers they had no food or water and that they would often walk to a neighbor's home for help.
