NEW DELHI: India reported 5,233 fresh covid infections in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of active cases to 28,857, according to the Union health ministry's updated data on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the country had reported 3,714 new cases. Active cases now make for 0.07% of total infections, while the national recovery rate was at 98.72%, the ministry said.

COATESVILLE, Pa. - Tower Health announces Western Chester County will lose Medic 93 EMS services.Months after losing two hospitals, Tower Health announced Tuesday that some of those same communities will lose their EMS services come September.The medical group said in a statement that they are consolidating Medic 93 EMS from four locations down to two in September. WILDWOOD CREST, N.J. - A Pennsylvania man died after he was pulled from the water off the coast of Wildwood on Tuesday, according to authorities. The Wildwood Crest Police Department said the victim, 54-year-old Joel Green, was brought onto the beach near Syracuse Street by swimmers who noticed him unresponsive in the water. Authorities say a beach goer provided CPR until emergency crews responded and continued life-saving measures. Green, a Cambria County resident, was brought to Cape Regional Medical Center where he died.Authorities extended their condolences to Green's family and reminded swimmers to only use beaches with lifeguards on patrol.

Police say a 34-year-old man was found dead after he was shot multiple times inside his vehicle Tuesday evening in Crescentville. RUTLEDGE, Tenn. - A United Methodist Church pastor is suing her church after some members accused her of practicing homosexuality, saying the accusations interfered with her pastoral duties and she may be unemployed.An attorney for Reverend Bodhi Der Parunakian said a lawsuit was filed in Grainger County Circuit Court in Tennessee last week.  According to court documents obtained by FOX Television Stations, Der Parunakian is the pastor at Shiloh, Joppa and Cedar Grove United Methodist Churches.The pastor said she identified her homosexuality when she was hired by the United Methodist Church but chose the life of celibacy according to the church's "Book of Discipline" which states "the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with the Christian teaching." NEW YORK - In a brazen daytime attack, a man shoved a woman onto the train tracks at an outdoor subway station in the Bronx on Sunday afternoon. The NYPD released a video from a security camera at the Jackson Avenue station in the Melrose section showing the disturbing attack. A person wearing a white tank top, red backpack, and backward baseball cap grabs someone standing on the platform and hurls her onto the tracks, the video shows.

SKYFOX in North Philadelphia where authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a man.  PHILADELPHIA - A man has died after being shot in broad daylight at a gas station in North Philadelphia, according to police. Authorities say the shooting happened on the 2900 block of N Broad Street just after 11 a.m. A 42-year-old man was shot multiple times in the head and pronounced dead on scene, per officials. SKYFOX was over the scene of the gas station and saw first responders on location. According to authorities, no arrests have been made and no weapon has been recovered.
